Pulling her hair out?

My 13 month old has just started pulling her own hair out. It started yesterday when I went to get her up from her nap. She had both hands/fists with hair in them. I was hoping it would be a one time deal and she'd not form a habit of this. She doesn't have much hair to begin with so if she continues she'll be bald at this rate.

This morning when I went to get her out of bed for the day she had done it again. Is this normal?! She has a doctors appointment soon for her 1 year checkup and obviously I am going to bring it up there but I was just curious if others experienced this?

Re: Pulling her hair out?

My dd did that for about 2 months...but she was younger at about 6-8 months. We did hats a lot, but I know that would be hard with a 13 mnth old. Otherwise, if I caught her doing it I would grab her hand, put it away from her head and say NO. I'd try and get her focused on something else. Seemed like she did it when she was tired. She would have handfuls of hair . Hopefully it is a phase for your dd and she will quite soon!
