what can you do to stomp out black mold without bleach?

maybe Tea Tree Oil? is it on something that could be boiled (or have boiling water poured over it?)

If the mold it on dry wall the only way to get rid of it is to replace the dry wall. I think there are some safer products that bleach out there for other surfaces.

If you are talking about hard, washable surfaces, I would try spraying them with hydrogen peroxide. It works really good in the shower, tub, etc. You'll hear it foaming as it eats the mold up, then you can just scrub and rinse.

If its drywall or wood, though, I agree with pp, you will probably have to completely replace it.

i get it on my windows, really bad in the childrens room where i run the vaporizer when they are sick. it also grows in the corners of my basement. i need to seal those walls, and it should take care of that problem. but I will try Hydrogen Peroxide on the windows next time I scrub them.

We had it bad on the kids' windows. Last fall, I cleaned them up really well, then we covered them with the winterizing plastic like you get at the hardware store. Not a single bit has come back. I'm leaving it on all year 'round.

We had some issue in our basement when we first moved in. Mold can spread quickly so we got a testing kit and ran a dehumidifier for about 2 weeks straight after we cleaned, just to make sure the mold wasn't still spreading.

To clean, I put vinegar on a rag and added some tea tree oil to disinfect.
