I know a super brilliant dentist named DeWitt who goes by Witt. That way it could technically be 2 syllables. I think it's a cool name.

Rhys for a boy. I love this name, but alas it is the name of a friend in Australia and so of course we can't use it. I don't see the big deal to DH about it, it's not like we see him all that often or anything LOL

I'm *way* picky about names! Honestly, there isn't a post long enough for all the names we won't use, even though I love them!

Between DH and I, we have 30 cousins, 18 nieces and nephews, quite a few exes, and then there's the fact that we've both worked as teachers and developed biases against the names of certain students. So that rules out A LOT of names I love, including Lauren, Nicholas, Isaiah, and Olivia!

On top of that, I don't like alliteration or rhyming, so I won't use any name starting or ending with the same letters that our last name starts or ends with! Which rules out great names like Bianca!

Oh, and on top of all that I like names to have significant meaning. For instance, even though I love Celia, and it meets all my other requirements, it means "blind" so it's not an option.

Needless to say, this has made naming our kids hard! But my parents seriously don't even know why they picked my name, so I've always thought I better put some work into my kids names!

I love the name Greta, but DH is against it.

Our last name ends in Y so names like Mary, Aubrey, Cassie, etc are just way to rhyming for both of us, even though we like some of those names.

The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Ariel, I think it's a great name, but Disney's "The Little Mermaid" had ruined it for me!

LOVE the name Olivia!
