Exclamation HELP! Sick kids! Can I use my basal thermometer on my kids?

My kids have been very sick this week. We had 3 thermometers (including my 1 basal digital) and now the batteries went dead in the other 2, so I've been using my basal one. Do you think that it is accurate to use like this? I think that it's giving me higher readings than the regular ones did, but I figured that maybe that does mean it's more accurate. What are your thoughts on this? TIA!
PS. DD's temp 50 minutes ago was 103.5 and now after tylenol & cool wash rags it is down to 103.3, so only a slight difference (both of these were under-arm with the basal thermometer). She feels so hot! What else can I do?!

You can alternate tylenol and ibuprofin every 2-3 hours. I think using your basal is fine. As far as I know the only difference is more accurate readings so you can detect even the slightest shift in temp.

I hope your kids feel better soon.

I used my BBT this last time when Nova was sick, LOL. I just had to hold it in her armpit longer than the other thermometers we own but it probably would be more accurate if you can get them to hold still that long.
