31 weeks Braxton Hicks

I'm on my fourth pregnancy. I've never had any noticeable contractions until I was actually in labor with my previous pregnancies, all at 41 weeks.

This time I'm having them quite often and everyday just in these past few days. Should I be thinking 'hey this baby might come early' or 'every pregnancy is different and this is your fourth'.

My doctor told me that you get more and stronger BH with each subsequent pregnancy. This is my third, and I began feeling them around 20 weeks, maybe sooner, and I have many per day, especially when I bend over or get up. Yours aren't painful are they? If they are just tight belly cx I think you are fine.

Have you been drinking enough water? I get BH much worse when I am dehydrated.

Definitely this! I've had tons of BH with each pregnancy, and I'm sure it's because I don't ever really want to drink anything when I'm pregnant. With my second, third and forth pregnancy, I noticed them as soon as I could feel my uterus, 12 or so weeks ago. That being said, my girls were born at about 36, 38, and 37.5 weeks, so I expect to have this one around 37-38 weeks.

Re: 31 weeks Braxton Hicks

All of my many doctors assure me this is a normal, healthy pregnancy and I have been having BH contractions since about 20 weeks, too. This is my 3rd, and there wasn't much recovery time between my 2nd and 3rd. I am hydrated, so don't think its that with me. I was going to bring it up at my next appt, but from everything I have been reading, I think its normal in subsequent pregnancies.

Re: 31 weeks Braxton Hicks

My Dr told me BH's are good (as long as they don't hurt of course!). This is my first pregnancy and I have been feeling them since 24 weeks. They are supposed to strenthen your uterus for delivery.
