Heartburn

I never had heartburn with my other pregnancies and I keep waking up at night with heartburn. This stinks! I already get up 2 times to go to the bathroom and now I'm getting up 2 or 3 more times because the heartburn is so bad. I hope this doesn't last the entire pregnancy. What do you take that works quickly?

Gaviscon or tums if its minor. I get extreme heartburn that causes esophagus damage. So I take Zantac ( which you need to take before eating) and by the end of the pregnancy 1 litre of gaviscon a wk.

It takes about 6 mth pp for my esphogus to repair from the damage. Hope your never gets that bad.

I had heartburn for the last 4 months of my first pregnancy. Tums and milk were my go to's for relief.

with DD I HAD to take Prilosec plus still taking tums. It was sooo awful!

I've had it a little with this pregnancy as well just back to taking prilosec.

Heartburn with my first literally lasted til i had DD. I had reflux really bad during pushing and thought i was gonna ge sick. it was so bad that all i could think of was my throat being on fire ..not even about the baby i was gonna have! Had DD and the hospital gave me mylanta. everything went away and hasn't come back until now LOL

I've been getting it a lot with this pregnancy too. With DD I didn't get it until much later, last trimester at least. It isn't too horrible, but does wake me up at night, or if I am already up to go to the bathroom and it's there, I can't fall back asleep until I take something.

Usually I take 3 tums, the mint ones. That seems to do the trick pretty quickly usually. Water helps me too, as well as milk. Milk also helps me get back to sleep also.

I had horrible acid reflux and I must have had tums like tic-tacs and drank milk but notjing helped so the doctor gave me some nexium and i was in LOVE lol

I don't have it yet but had it terrible my other two pregnancies. I like papaya enzyme and drinking kefir.

Ahhh, I've been having it this time too and never really had it before. Only for a few weeks with last pg and then it went. Never ever this early either.

My friend is giving me her tums she doesn't need so usually (last pg) I use those first and that works. For now I might have a few bites of ice cream, sit up a bit until it passes. It hits me in the evening about 7/8pm which is when I also feel sick.

I love keifer so I might try that too if my kids haven't drank it all already!
