We got several of these invites at DS's last preschool. We didn't go to any.

This is the standard these days at all schools or they say if you are a girl you have to invite all the girls and vice versa for boys.

Re: Birthday invitations from kids you don't even know?

I actually wonder if DD does know some of these kids. I see their names on the door and have remembered a few so I'll ask DD after school if she played with so and so (the few I know) and then I start asking random names bc I like to hear about her day sometimes she acts like she has no idea who I am talking about. Since all the kids don't go 5 days a week I know there are some in her class who she doesn't have class with ever. She goes on Wed and Fri right now so the kids who go Mon, Tues or Thurs only she wouldn't know. Anyway..moot point now but thanks for letting me know I'm the weirdo (p.s. I typically am lol)

It would make sense that DD would know kids that she goes to school with. While you may not be at school with her during the hours she's there, or able to talk to the parents, I'm sure your little one is playing with the other kids and has pre-school friends. Many of my best friends now I met in pre-school!

That being said, you may want to make an effort to get to know these families and encourage your LO to play with these kids outside of school.

Eta: and so sorry for your loss. :-(

The party was for the kid not you. I don't know all of the kids's parents my son goes to school with. Yet he still goes to their parties. I just don't see a problem with it.

Your not a weirdo. Just in the early stages of managing a little ones social life.

Re: Birthday invitations from kids you don't even know?

we havent been invited to any bday parties this year (first preschool year) =(
we also didnt invite anyone to nicks bday b/c we didnt know anyone yet(his bday is in Oct). i still dont know anyone but nick does. next year some of the kids will be the same but there will also be new kids in his class (2nd preschool yr) but we are going to invite his whole class. i want nick to make more friends and i NEED some mom friends of my own, so it seems like a good idea. i will be majorly embarrassed if noone comes tho...
