We use a cute ceramic bowl and dump every 1-2 days. No need for a lid, liner or anything else fancy. When the bowl is in the wash, we use a standard stainless mixing bowl. It always reminds me of Rachael Ray's "garbage bowl."

I have used the bags and they take a bit longer to compost. I ended up picking them out of my finished product to compost further. mostly i just use 1 or 2 large yogurt containers, lidded or not and I have a large bucket with lid right out my kitch door for easy dumping. That way i only need to take it to the pile every other week!

A large mason jar in the fridge is our route. Dump and wash and start loading it up again. Simple.
