Re: 3 in diapers - what would YOU use for a stash?
I'm still new to this cloth diapering thing but, despite the stuffing, pockets seem to be the easiest for us. Even my DH likes them. Yeah, it's a lot of stuffing but I do it right out of the dryer, put them is this great IKEA organizer I got and we're off and running until they run out. I am still trying to figure out overnights though.

Re: 3 in diapers - what would YOU use for a stash?
You'll either be stuffing pockets or folding flats it seems.. I have 4 in diapers (only two are at night only) and we use flats. All padfolded. When baby needed newborn sizes I just folded a set for him special. I used the Oragami fold just on him because he poo'd so much.. We have like 7 dozen flats and that works great because I can delay folding for a day if I need to.

Re: 3 in diapers - what would YOU use for a stash?
i would probably go for a hybrid system (at least for the future when the baby fits in os). i've only had 2 in cd at a time, but i think the easiest thing for us was flips. i think in the long run, it would be easiest to do flips, grovia, or best bottoms or something like that. you could use sized prefolds to trifold in os covers if that makes it more cost effective. if you have heavy wetters, i'd really recommend either the flip organics or thirsties duo hemp pf's. we have one of the cube storage systems and you could designate bins for each kid to make it easier for the family. flips were really easy to use with 2 kids because you could visually see where they were snapped and know which kid the cover was snapped for. i would definitely not recommend softbums for multiple kids unless you are going to designate colors for each kid. i found that the hardest system to use for multiple kids in cd's.

Re: 3 in diapers - what would YOU use for a stash?
I'm trying an experiment and I think I may have just solved all my diapering problems all at once
I had 2 dozen large organic flats that were "irregulars" and not able to be used as flats. I had been considering serging them to be the right shape/dimensions to use for padfolding...but instead I just turned 6 of them into inserts like Flip organics. I just folded in quarters and serged into the dimensions to fit in the Flip covers. I'm going to try them out but they are so insanely trim I can't believe it and yet they are the same amount of layers when trifolded as a padfolded flat (12 layers). Both boys are in them right now! Waaaay easier for 3 in diapers, but I can still have the easy care and durability of birdseye! They literally took only 2-3 minutes each to make which I can totally swing even with my busy schedule. I am going to try these out and see how they fare in terms of absorbancy and shrinking, but this may be *IT*. They are trim enough to fold down easily for a newborn, yet the same layers as what I've been using on my toddlers for daytime. Doubled up for night is the same thickness as a quilty prefold. I have enough flats on hand that I could turn into a total of 4 dozen birdseye trifold inserts without spending a dime right now. So I could just have a stack or basket of covers for each child (probably most Flips already on the right snap setting, maybe some sized too?) and then just a big pile of these inserts. If someone else is going to watch the kids or if we are going out I can pre-load a few covers. Even if I wasn''t able to do that they fold down pretty much any direction without being bulky. I can imagine they are going to wash and dry SOOOO easy. I may not even need much in the way of doublers or extras since it isn't a big deal to double them up. I'll report back once I see how they work, but I think I may have just streamlined my stash, made my life WAY easier and still kept all the things I love about flats. Oh and no spending needed!

![]() It's funny to me that so many people are saying "no way" to pockets. (Although, I wasn't actually suggesting you use them. I said, use what you like. I like pockets. So, those were my example because it is what I use.) I love pockets. Stuffing them doesn't bother me at all. When I had 4 in diapers, I still used all pockets. It didn't even occur to me to switch. I really have no interest in folding a flat or prefold or using a snappy. I have well over 100 FB's in few sizes and a few of GAD's (literally, I think I have 3). I don't even own anything other than a pocket. Every other type of diaper has been sold very quickly after trying it. Everyone has a different preference.
