starting solids!!! how do you wash the dipes?

My lo is going to start solids soon and I was wondering how you wash the dipes. I am hoping to get a diaper sprayer, but do you need to do anything else to them after that? Should i get some disposable liners? Thanks in advance!!!!

Re: starting solids!!! how do you wash the dipes?

My DD is fairly regular with her poops since we started solids. So I use a disposable AppleCheeks liner (they are the softest I've found) when I'm pretty sure she's going to poop. I also have a diaper sprayer (google how to make your own - much cheaper and very easy!) for when I forget, and it comes in very handy. The dunk and swish thing never worked for me.

We have Bummis flushable liners in the diapers. They are $6 for a roll of 100, and they're available at www.jilliansdrawers.com and other cloth diaper retailers.

If the liner doesn't quite contain everything, I dunk the diaper in the toilet. Either way, I toss the diaper in the pail (with a wetbag) and wash every couple of days.

Thanks mamas! I'll look up how to make your own sprayer and i'll try the liners. Do you need to do any other sanitizing before throwing them into the washer?

Re: starting solids!!! how do you wash the dipes?

I've loved our diaper sprayer for more than 4 yrs now. I got mine off of ebay, it's by sigma and was around $20. I just spray the diaper off, I change my baby on a prefold (the poo changes anyways) I carry the dirty dipe into the bathroom on the prefold and then spray out the diaper and wrap the diaper in the prefold. Not sure why I've done it like this for 4 plus years but it's been how it's been done here!

I used diaper liners. You will have to get the poop off before putting the diaper in the pail. It's very easy with diaper liners. I used the cloth kind.
