I'm totally goign to try this because I stuff everything with a pad folded flat. If you sew them, how long does it take to dry them?

the drying time was close to 20 minutes on medium heat. The middle layers are still "free" and get a bit bunchy but I take it out of the dryer and press it flat with my hands for a second and its back in flat shape. A straight line of sewing right down the middle part might hold it in place better and still keep the drying time low, its still "flappy".

I bet a suedecloth layer sewed on one side could make for a stay-dry flip insert. Or any cover insert, really.

Market it? oh my, lol...SO not my thing but maybe I could patent the idea, ha!

I'm going to try folding a flat like this when DD gets up from her nap! Thanks for sharing!

A lot of online diaper shops sell flats. I got mine from greenmountaindiapers.com, but it looks like their large rectangular ones aren't available.

Flats are just one piece of fabric that you fold up to create as many layers of absorbancy as you want. There's a bunch of different ways to fold them to customize your baby's needs.

LOVE this! Thanks again for sharing pictures! It is so much easier to work with, and easier to get the correct length no matter the size of the flat...I've got like 3 different sizes and can never decide which one to use. I wish I would have known this fold for DS, you can get a nice extra bit of layers in the front w/ the bigger flat.
Previously, the only folds I could do were origami and fold in quarters/then thirds.
