Re: Dd took her cast off!

I'm in a hand cast-going on three months now. I've had numerous x-rays, and next week I'm heading in for a CT (?) scan. My doctor says lots of patients take off their own casts, and end up having problems down the road. I'd still bring her in so they can look at it, and give the final ok.
I know hand is different then arm though-I have to do therapy after my cast finally comes off, so I've got a long ways to go in this whole process yet bleh!

Re: Dd took her cast off!

It will definitely be a long heal time. My daughter was in a cast at 16 months old for breaking her arm (in my opinion, she wasn't in it long enough), and she broke it again just shy of 24 months in the same exact place. : (

I would def. call and explain what happened, then they can go from there. You would feel horrible if you just let it go, and then down the road something develops that could have been prevented by a simple follow-up that you were too embarrassed to call about.
