Anyone starting off underweight?

I'm only 118 right now. I started my last pregnancy at 125, so I kinda tolerated the 15 lb weight loss the first trimester brought. I'm worried this go around, because I don't really have much weight to lose. Oh, I'm 5'7. What are you doing to make sure you aren't getting too thin?

Re: Anyone starting off underweight?

I am 5'5 and was 111 last time I wieghed about a month ago. But I wouldn't call myself underweight for my body type but maybe for general weight I am, don't know. My doc told my to gain 50lbs last time and I ended up with all kinds of weight related issues because of it(diabetes and liver failure) I went to a specialist at 7months because of it and she said I had gained too much weight(56lbs), so I am just going to let nature do its thing and however much I gain I gain, but I am not cramming it in this time. I do worry a bit about the morning sickness though.

Re: Anyone starting off underweight?

I wouldn't be too worried about it, if I were you. I was right at the underweight-normal cutoff when I got pregnant with DD and didn't really lose anything, and I didn't start gaining until my second trimester. I ate what I could, when I could and just checked in with my MW to make sure everything was going well.

This time, I started at a normal weight (131 at 5'6), and I'm already gaining at 6 weeks. This will be fun

I'm 5'7" at 135 which is normal for me but if I lose 10 lbs the first Tri like I did with DS I'll be way to small. My hips are already boney and stick out. I'm hoping to maintain and I only want to gain like 20-25 this time. With DS I was put on bed rest basically and gained 50. I lost it all but I dint wanna have to do that again!

Re: Anyone starting off underweight?

I'm not underweight. I never loose weight like I hear other women do although every pregnancy I secretly wish I would loose a few before I gain. I always gain 50 pounds throughout pregnancy so that is why. I guess I'm just hoping for normal weight gain this time. But I'm thankful that I at least loose it all after I have the baby.

With DD I started at 120 and I am 5'6"...I gained 50 lbs...sigh. I'm starting at 125 this go around, not underweight by any means. But I'm afraid I'll gain a lot of weight again...I have no problem putting weight on

Re: Anyone starting off underweight?

I have started everyone of my pregnancies at 98 lbs and go right back to that weight after about the one year mark of nursing. I usually gain really really well during pregnancy though, gaining about 40-50 lbs each time.
