Need Interview Help...

I'm super nervous (and excited) to have a job interview tomorrow. We moved last year, and there is a casino 5 minutes from our house. Our neighbors both work at the casino, and they both said it pays really well. I am hoping whatever position they are 'pre-interviewing' me for pays well! In my email, it doesn't say which position I was selected for, just that this would be a pre-interview for all positions.

We are broke right now (selling stuff we don't need to get by until DH gets paid next Tuesday). I've been out of work for 2 years, so at times, it has been hard for us. I'm selling some items today and should have a good amount of money to buy interview clothes. I recently had a baby (she is 8 weeks old) so I didn't keep anything 'nice' that I wore for my job 2 years ago.

Getting a job is really important for me, but I also don't want to put us in financial stress any more then I have to. The pre-interview is tomorrow. I'm wondering if I qualify for a "real" interview, if it would be after Tuesday (when DH gets paid). Then I could afford to get a nice outfit w/o worrying if we will have money for this weekend for our plans to see family for Father's Day.

I have a pair of black heels that have never been worn that still fit. And black dress pants that fit well (funny that the 1 piece of clothing I did keep fits - thank God!) I have already lost all of my pregnancy weight, and my tummy is almost back to flat, but I have a slimming tank top that will keep it all together. I'm trying to figure out if I should still go try to find a suit cheap, or scour local Goodwill's for a dress shirt and blazer. I would REALLY prefer to wear a skirt suit, or outfit with a skirt. I feel they look more professional and lady-like on me.

If I really didn't need this job (or a job at all) I wouldn't worry about it. But I do, so thus the worrying.

Any ideas on how to put a nice interview set together? Or places that might have cheap suit sets? I DO have a gift card for $10 to Kohl's, but they seem to be expensive. And I'm worried that Goodwill won't have my size, but I could always try.

If it's like the casino's I applied at, you'll be in a large group and you'll each get a couple of questions to answer. You should be fine in nice black slacks, heels, and a shirt from goodwill. If you do decide to use the gift card, Kohls should have a coupon somewhere and the clearance rack often has really good finds. Good luck! I hope you get it.

Oh, I'm nervous about the group thing! Do they ask you your questions while you are in the group? Were your questions like 'what would you do if you were busy and had a 2nd customer', or 'how do you handle a stressful situation'... stuff like that?

They gave me the option of 12pm - 2:30pm, and the times are split up into 10 minute increments. So I guess it could be a group thing, where people come and go during that time. Or they could just have you in and out fast within 10 minutes. So excited.. DS is totally ready for daycare, and I'm SO ready for a job. It will be nice to not live paycheck-to-paycheck and I desperately miss getting out of the house to be around and socialize with people!

We did have to answer the questions in a big group. It doesn't sound like you'll have to.

I guess we'll just see how it goes! Talked to HR at the hospital I'm trying to get into (taking online classes for my Bachelor's in Health Care Administration), and I qualified for 5 positions, I'm hoping to hear something from them!! 40 min. drive, but totally worth it.
