Days for Girls Sew-A-Long

Post your pics and progress ya'll

I have 6 regular shields and I small shield done but only one set of coordinating liners. I am hoping to get more done but I have been kind of busy with orders from my shop this week.

I talked to my MIL and grandma about hanging out one day and sewing and they've agreed, but this probably can't take place until July (I am heading to Kansas for the fourth of July).

Anyway, how's it going?

Re: Days for Girls Sew-A-Long

I guess I should explain what we are doing huh?!

We are doing a sew-a-long for Days for Girls, which provides mama cloth to women and girls in need.

We are all just sharing in the love of sewing beautiful things to pass along to women in need. We are going to post our pics and progress here and then send our stuff in separately to be distributed by DFG.

If you would like to participate then you can check out the DFG website or fb page and get all the details including patterns and tutorials.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Note to participants: Should we make this an ongoing sew-a-long? For example, work on some every month and send in on certain dates? I just can't get enough of making these and this project has really touched me, would be nice if we could keep it going and be regular contributors?!

Re: Days for Girls Sew-A-Long

I am going to post a pic today (if I can figure out how!) of my shields and stuff. I have a few things to work on for my shop but then I am hoping to hit the cutting and sewing for DFG hard tonight!

Re: Days for Girls Sew-A-Long

OMG - this is SOOOOO overdue. I knew this thread was waiting here for me - so here is my latest contribution. The fabric has been staring at me from the DFG corner of my sewing room for months! (the corner of where I throw all the PUL scraps that are big enough to make a shield.)
20 Shields
20 PP trifold liners
10 drawstirng bags
15 betty pads

I am happy to have seen many DS mamas & Wahms participating in DFG recently! yay!
