Re: Anyone else still nursing a toddler while pg?
OH...I want to tell my story about waiting to introduce bottles and pacis.
We took the advice of everything we read that said to wait at least 4-6 weeks to introduce artificial nipple-type things. Our FP said that she's never seen a problem with nipple confusion if the bottle is introduced earlier so we should just go ahead and try. But we didn't. And therefore produced a child who NEVER took a bottle and REFUSED any attempt at giving her pacifiers (which, I'm actually thankful for that). So, no one could ever feed her except me. And it sucked. I will not tell a lie (sorry to be selfish but I basically couldn't leave her longer than 2 hours in the beginning). We tried everything. I have a million bottles and a million nipples in our drawer to prove it. We tried for weeks. I'm sure we were doing something wrong, but there you go. This go around, we're really going to make the bottle thing work, I tell you what. But, I had so much BM in the freezer it wasn't funny.

We tried to introduce at 6 weeks, and DD never ever took a bottle either. I actually ended up being glad about it. I'm torn about whether to introduce at all with this baby. On the one hand it would be nice to get that break... On the other hand, we made it work when DD didn't ever take one. And I'll get to be at home for the whole first year with this one, so maybe it won't be a big deal...

Re: Anyone else still nursing a toddler while pg?
I like when they are willing to take the bottle, it is just nice to have the option. In all honestly we intro's the bottle at 3-4 weeks for each kid and pacis in the hospital (although none of them really ever took one for long). Still my second nevertook a bottle, never. She was super-colicky so honestly I wish she would have, so I could have gottne a break from her every once and a while
![]() DS went back and forth between bottle andbreast like a champ ( good thing b/c I was still working back then). L took them sorta kinda. i wasn't afraid she would starve b/c if she was hungry she would drink it, but preferred me.

Re: Anyone else still nursing a toddler while pg?
I am bfing my 18month old several times a day still. Starting to wean (slowly) and hoping to be done by the time he's 2. Especially at night.. He is still up 2-3 times a night, I haven't gotten a full night's sleep since I was pregnant w/ him and I am EXHAUSTED! Glad to see I am not the only one who's toddler still gets up at night, I really thought I was alone here! I try to not let him nurse at night when he wakes up but I always end up giving in cuz I am tired and he just screams til I do so I really don't know what to do
During the day I am trying to offer sippy cups instead of boob and it usually works unless he's really tired. I can tell my milk is starting to diminish cuz I don't get as full as quickly as I did...I am not too sore yet but my nipples do start burning after baby boy nurses awhile...My son NEVER took a bottle...it has been rough because I am the only one who can put him to sleep ever or even comfort him most of the time. Of course I love that he needs me but a break would be nice once in awhile He did take a pacifier from the day he was born and we never had any probs w/ nipple confusion. He weaned himself off his binky when he was only 8 months old and I was totally bummed cuz that was my only break! I will definitely be introducing a bottle AND binky soon after baby #2 is born!!
