Gardening book or website recommendations?
I have been growing tomatoes in containers for years, but we moved to a place that already had a 'garden' in place. It isn't a raised bed or anything great, but it has given me lots of room for practice.
Can anyone recommend a book or website for general gardening basics? I have researched a lot of books on Amazon, but there are a lot of choices that are highly rated, and our library has summer-long waiting lists for them. |

Re: Gardening book or website recommendations?
I am highly prejudiced toward permaculture and no-til methods.
For books I'd recommend Lasagna Gardening for starters: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20 Uh... Lasagna Gardening? here is a brief web page: http://organicgardening.about.com/od...agnagarden.htm I also love Gaia's Garden: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20 and Ruth Stout's No Work Garden Book: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20 Seems amazon is not the place to procure this one- I got mine at a used book store for a couple bucks. An excellent start to answering 'what is permaculture?' ~ http://www.gburnett.unisonplus.net/Perma/ Some fun basic basics gardening sites: http://www.thegardenhelper.com/gardenerindex.html http://simpleorganic.net/5-gardening...for-beginners/ Yay gardens! |
