worried about progesterone level

Alright ladies! I can be such a worry wart! My progesterone level at 16 DPO was at 18.9. I supplement my progesterone with prometrium. Do you think this number is too low especially since I do supplement?? Can anyone share experiences about this? Thanks in advanced!!!!

I don't have any experience with this, I'm sorry. Hopefully another momma will chime in that does.

Re: worried about progesterone level

I thought I read something recently that in the first trimester they like it to be above 10... I know it's usually different when you are supplementing, but you *are* still in that "good" range.
Also, I'm not 100% here so don't take this as gospel, but I know my Dr. didn't like checking my progesterone when I was TTC because it's not a really good indication of what's actually happening. Progesterone levels ebb and flow during the day- so you would literally have to take your blood every hour all day long in order to get a really clear picture of what your levels are like. I would assume that it's the same during pregnancy, in which case maybe you are just looking at one of you lows. ?

What did your Dr. say?

Re: worried about progesterone level

I have not actually talked to the doctor, just a nurse who told me to continue taking the prometrium. I have my first appointment on Wednesday so I will discuss this with her then. Maybe I'm just worrying for no reason and I should let nature run her course...

Just thought if any other mamas had any experiences they would share so I could ease my mind!! Thanks Sheena!
