I need some input. Since Kale came home from the hospital, he has slept with me. But DH (stationed in Iraq) will be returning home in 7 weeks. I would love some alone time with DH, but don't want my relationship with Kale to suffer. DH likes co-sleeping, but for the first few weeks of DH being home, I'd like to have the bed alone. Should I wean Kale to his crib? Invest in a co-sleeper? Has anyone else dealt with this?
Also, when the twins are born in October, we plan on investing in a king size bed and putting that on the floor iwth a twin matress next to it for extra sleeping space. Has anyone co-slept with three kids (along with a 3 yr old occasionaly)? |

Re: Co-sleeping question
Do you have room to set something up next to your bed? a pack n play or a crib maybe? We like to have our bed to ourselves for a bit too. Esp since we have a queen and my hubby is 6'3"! It gets crowded.
We have Eliana's crib set up about 2 feet away from our bed on my side - it works well for us. She starts the night in there and when she wakes to nurse, joins us in our bed. It works very well for us. The rest of our kids (the boys) are all together in one room - they love it.

Re: Co-sleeping question
we JUST moved my 3 yr olds bed into our room and she is doing well with it. We have a queen. my 1 yr old sleeeps in his own crib because that is what he prefers, yet we still have the 1 mo. in bed iwth us.If you want to be able to have sex in you bed anytime soon then get somethng to put beside the bed so you can cosleep. Good luck!!!

If everyone was the same the world would be a VERY boring place.

When will we see you in the Pregnancy board with #9? LOL Just kidding... seriously though I would suggest getting a pack and play or even his crib to put next to your bed. That is what we do and while we have some alsone time in the bed we also have the comfort of knowing out baby is nearby. Our issue is trying to get the nearly 4 year old out of the bed before the baby arrives That is going to be tricky.

Re: Co-sleeping question
My room is pretty much beds. I have a toddler bed against the wall that my DD sleeps in, I have a twin bed pressed up against that that my DS sleeps in and I sleep there while nursing and then We have a king sixe bed pressed up against the twin for DH and I. I love this arrangement everyone has their own space and mama can get on with the hot flashes.
