Re: Found this on the cause/treatment of pre-e

Idk...I wouldn't be surprised if my baby ends up being bigger because of this. It beats having pre-e any day though!

One other thing is that you have to make sure and drink tons of water and stay hydrated, apparently your body needs more water to digest protein than it does other things. I was having such a hard time staying hydrated and then I learned this little tidbit on Dual Survival I have been drinking Vitamin Water or Emergen-C along with regular water and I guess the extra electrolytes have been helping.

LOL at the phone. Hate it when they do that!

Simple carbs can absolutely contribute to a bigger baby...but a diet full of simple carb is a poor one anyway (and could go either way- bigger baby or smaller, undernourished one).

Some protein turns to glucose when it is metabolized (or from what I've read, more, if there are NO carbs in the diet otherwise), but from what I understand, it doesn't "turn into carbs." So I wouldn't worry about that.

IMO, they key is just a healthy, balanced diet overall. I think that following the glycemic index (for the most patr) is a great option.
