Best type of pocket insert????

I will be using them on a newborn and possibly a toddler (almost 2)...I've used bumgenius ones in the past, but thinking of other options.
How do preemie prefolds work for inserts (for absorbancy)?
I will be using a variety of pockets: sunbaby, blueberry, fuzzi bunz, bumgenius...what should I get/use???
Thanks for the help!

A trifolded premie insert would be very absorbent!

I don't think preemie prefolds would be absorbant enough for very long. I have some and use them as thin doublers.

I fold up a flat to make my own inserts. They are very absorbant and trim.

Smaller flats could work for the newborn, and bigger flats could work for the toddler.

I really like Ragababe inserts. I know they will fit in a BG 3.0 I'm not sure about others. But they are super absorbent!

For some reason I am loving Happy Heineys with my 17mo son. I never liked them with my twin girls. Interesting how you may like one thing for one child and another for a different babe. I like BG pockets but hate the tabs.

The preemie pfs wouldn't be that absorbent even tri-folded. I would say infant pfs or smaller 27x27 flats. You could even use receiving blankets.
