Lining the driveway we had LARGE cards that we made from posterboard with a bubble machine hooked up. The back yard was full of bright lanterns and I took tea cups 7 saucers and hot glued them onto dowels & stuck them all through the garden. We had flamingos and a croquet area...of course my daughter dressed up as Alice for the first part...then we had a metal band take the stage...their name of course :"Instant Madness" I had balloons inside with images cut out from the book hanging off of them...ummmmm...a topsy turvey cake, cupcakes that said eat me, bottle of water with tags that said drink me...I'll have to find the photos...
oh wow! that sounds awesome! I'd love to see some pics!

Re: "Alice in wonderland birthday party"!! thoughts? ideas?

We had a halloween party for DS's first bday since his bday was fairly close to halloween...we did an AIW theme for our family costumes. DD was Alice, DS the white rabbit, DH was the mad hatter and I was the queen of hearts. I kept finding so many great ideas for the AIW but I tried remember that it was a hallween dress up and not just AIW.

If you wanted to play a game...this is one I meant to do and didn't get around to it. I had bought some cheap white fake roses and was going to have a "painting the roses red game" where they had to see how many they could get painted in a certain amount of time.

I was also going to do a bit of croquet with some plastic pink flamingos, but they aren't as easy to find in October.

Here is a blog that has a pic of the plates. And mine look similar to these all stacked.

~ You could make a huge playing card and cut out the hearts to make a beanbag toss game.
~ You could play croquet and make the wickets out of large cards and paint the mallets pink with beaks
~ You could probably find someone on here or etsy to make you invitations that look like playing cards.
