Re: I HATE BFING!!!!!!!
That is terrible! Why would you starve your baby just because you want convenience? An infant doesn't know what bad behavior is, they know what being hungry, being dirty, and being loved is. A 2 year old knows what "bad" behavior is (which if you keep telling them they are 'bad' you are headed downhill from there), not babies! There are other successful ways of introducing a bottle other than trying to starve them into it. Patience, understanding and love are the keys to raising good adults.

I've been ebfing too and still don't like it. Sometimes I truly hate it. DD is just not a good nurser and I am trapped in the house bc she screams so much and won't let me hold her without a pillow to nurse.

Re: I HATE BFING!!!!!!!
Poor Momma!
I can totally relate to your feelings. I've struggled with many of the same issues with breastfeeding my children. If I were you, I'd try to keep working with her to take a bottle of pumped milk, and ultimately toward nursing from you less. (Have you tried warming the nipple under the faucet before giving it to her? Have you let your husband feed her with you out of the room? Tried different bottles/nipples?) Don't feel bad about being miserable with breastfeeding. Give yourself credit for pushing yourself this far, and give yourself a break. Could you see yourself nursing part time? Maybe at night time only? If so, then aim to have the baby on day bottles and find the help and support you need to make that happen. If you need to quit breastfeeding altogether...do it and don't feel guilty. You might try to keep her on breastmilk for a few more weeks or even months before totally weaning her...but if you feel that you just can't, then don't. Do what you need to do. Your baby needs a happy mother more than anything! |

BF has always been something I have had mixed feelings about but I have never hated it. With my first child I felt like it was a chore and I NEVER nursed in public with the exception of family's houses. With DS I would nurse in public but prefered to be able to sit in the car if we were out. This time around I am much better and although I always cover up for my own comfort I don't feel as odd about it. I was so shy and modest about it with my first 2 that I would not even let a LC help me because I didn't want anyone all in my biz. You have to do what works for you and one great piece of advice is take it one day at a time because otherwise it can be overwhelming. Like setting a long goal is harder to see the finish than if you just take it day by day and pretty soon months have passed and you are still going.

Re: I HATE BFING!!!!!!!
I had the WORST Time breastfeeding too, you need to have more support! It is hard if your BF isn't being supportive. My husband would get up through the night change her, and then hand her to me, then get her and put her back. He would also rock her to sleep and he worked 12-14 hour days. It made a huge difference. She was NOT an easy baby when she was little and it made breast feeding really hard!
