Talking OK I think I may be just a little obsessed :giggle:

I just found out that I am pregnant with baby #2 and my DS is now 18 months old We didn't start cloth diapering until he was a few weeks old, so I have plenty of small, medium, and large size diapers, but didn't buy any newborn sized diapers for him. In the last two or three weeks I have amassed a few nb diapers...I CAN'T STOP LOOKING AT FLUFF

What is a good number of newborn sized diapers to have? I wash diapers every other day currently and we mostly wear AIO and sometimes fitted diapers. My DS was 8lbs at birth, so I would assume this baby would be of a similar size. This is what I currently have for new baby.

6XS BG AIO
13 Lil Joeys
3 Gro Via NB
5 Kissaluvs 0
1 mutt NB
4 custom B4 NB on the way
6 prowraps in NB
also have 7 B4 one size that are suppose to fit at 8lbs on the smallest setting

8 SM BG AIO
2 SM BWX AIO
3 SM Swaddlebees AIO
3 SM Sposoeasy AIO
2 SM Bottombumpers
2 SM Dream-Ez AIO
2 SM Drybees hybrid AIO

If we are going to do AIO during the day and definitely fitted at nighttime, is this enough of diapers? I know the BG XS won't fit will until the umbilical stump falls off, right?

I know I need to get some small covers as well and some wool

How big are your babies? I dont think lil joeys will fit long. If you do aios and fitteds i would aim for 24 aio and 6 fitteds with 4 covers.

imo Lil Joeys aren't worth the money if you have a big baby.

DD was 7lbs at birth and LJ's only fit for 3 weeks...loved the XS BGs tho

My first son was 8lbs even. Aren't second children usually around the same size? I think I'm probably ok in the small size, it's just that nb size that I'm worried about needing to have while the umbilical cord stump is still present.

Do the BG XS fit longer than Lil Joey's? Can you actually use this diaper before the umbilical cord falls off or do you have to wait?

All the Lil Joey's I've found have been pretty good deals on FSOT and I've snagged a few good deals on Ebay as well.

Our first boy was 7 lbs. 2.5 oz. And our second was 6 lbs 3 oz! So our second seemed like a peanut compared to our first born. Honestly, I think weight ranges could vary for the same Mama...

We tried Lil' Joeys and BG XS with our second and I actually prefer the BG AIOs over the Joeys! They can be worn much longer.

When/if we have #3, I'm sticking with some BGs for nighttime/outings!

HTHs!

Re: OK I think I may be just a little obsessed :giggle:

my first was 7 lbs, my second 6 - he fit well in the GroVia AIO from birth, it didn't bother the stump, and he can still wear them at almost 11 pounds...

I have a really small machine, and with 2 in cloth find I need to wash daily or it doesn't all fit.... can't wait to potty train my toddler!!

I would get just a few more newborn diapers and a few more small diapers. But then again, I love tiny fluff and I'm an enabler. But really... do it.

My xs bg went under the cord on my 6lb i just folded down the top. I think on average that babies are slightly bigger the 2nd. The xs bg will last alot longer than lil joeys. I have heard that the little joeys arent that great. Bc of leaks. I got 2 for my own stash. But i mostly stocked xs bg and grovia. The stump usually lasts a wk anyway.
