Talking I had to get a seatbelt extender on the plane!

How embarrassing is that?

The flight attendant was like "wow how far along are you" and I was like 35 weeks...

LOL!

In my defense, the belt on the flight over at 34 weeks fit just fine, on the way back we were on a smaller plane, which I think had shorter seatbelts! LOL

Haha nope! I had clearance until Aug 8th! Which puts me at a little over 36 weeks. Did you know if you go into labor and deliver on the plane, you get a lifetimes worth of free airfare with that carrier for you and your baby?

TRUE fact! LOL I think need schedule another flight around 40 weeks. Don't ya think?

Btw I had a letter from my OB just in case but not a single person asked!

I flew internationally (from South Korea to Japan, Japan to Minneapolis, Minneapolis to my hometown) at almost 30 weeks pregnant. THAT was a nightmare! lol I remember the guy at customs in Minneapolis looking at me and asking me why I looked so tired (gee thanks!). I just looked at him and was like, "Um, I'm almost 30 weeks pregnant and I've been traveling for more than 24 hours!" And it's not like you can really SLEEP on an airplane so yeah, I looked a little on the beat side. Some food and sleep really helped though. But yeah, not something I recommend doing at all.

My mom now, she wasn't allowed to fly at all after she was 36 weeks I think. I'd have to ask her. It was when she was pregnant with my older sister so she didn't get to go to Hawaii with her husband when he went there for R&R (this was back in 1968). Good thing though because she had my sister while he was gone. She probably would have had the baby in the plane! My sister was about a month early.

It does depend on the pregnancy and what not but as long as it's a normal pregnancy, you should be able to fly internationally up to 32 weeks and domestically up to 36.

And I don't see how driving 14 hours would have been better than flying what, two/three hours? I would think all of the sitting would be as bad for you. The doc might not have wanted you to go at all and be so far away. But like I said, I was on a plane at almost 30 weeks it was I think 13 hours just for the one leg of the trip. I saw the OB there before I left too and was cleared to fly. Not that I needed it. It wasn't like anyone could even tell I was pregnant.
