Wow. I couldn't even feel my baby except *very* occasionally at 22w. (Anterior placenta.)

My MW gave me a sheet in case I wanted to do them, but said that I didn't need to as long as I felt baby moving around regularly (once I could feel it, of course!)

Re: Do you do kick counts?

My midwife recommended I do them. She said to lay down with my hands on my belly and count 10 kicks. This typically takes between 1-5 minutes. Also, she said to do it at about the same time every day.

Re: Do you do kick counts?

My doctors start it at about 30 weeks. They ask that I check once a day for 4 movements in one hour.

This pregnancy I have not had to do this. I mentally check 2 x a day. Once in the morning and once in the evening. This baby is SO active though I normally get 20 movements an hour every hour almost.

With DD1 though I had to struggle to get the counts. Honestly I think its because I drink caffeine this time and I didn't last time. lol

Re: Do you do kick counts?

My OB asked me to start doing kick counts at 28 weeks. She said I should be able to get 10 movements within an hour. This baby likes to move around a lot, though, so usually I just have to take 2 minutes to mentally count 10 kicks or turns before I fall asleep.
