Re: What sign do you use for breastfeeding?

I just used eat, and found it helped when we started solids, because at first she looked at the spoon like "what the heck is that?" but I signed and said "eat" and she opened her mouth.

Re: What sign do you use for breastfeeding?

we just do a fist squeeze, twice. and say milk or milkies. Worked fabulously for my son, hoping the same is true for my daughter.

We use the sign for "nurse/breastfeed" from aslpro.com.

I use the sign for milk w/ just one hand.

For whole milk in a cup (I have a 1 year old) I use the sign for cup.

Re: What sign do you use for breastfeeding?

With my DD I just made up a sign b/c I didn't know any, it was tugging on the ear. I did it for a few weeks and then she started doing it but when she did I didn't realize that she wanted to nurse... I thought she had an ear infection and took her to the pedi! It was two days later when she was still doing it that I had my "Doh!" moment. LOL!

She's two now and we have a new baby. I'll probably use the fist squeeze sign.

Re: What sign do you use for breastfeeding?

We have just been using the regular sign for MILK. For milk in a cup, we sign DRINK.

I have a post about this: http://lactationnarration.com/index....g-and-signing/

Lol about the ear tug / pediatrician! I kinda like it though, because it's subtle.

Re: What sign do you use for breastfeeding?

I just used the one hand fist squeeze and said "mama's milk". My DH used the same sign when feeding my pumped milk in the bottle. For cow's milk, we actually didn't use any sign, but would say "leche" to distinguish it from my milk. Right around a year old is when both my daughters started to sign back.
