cloth nursing pads
I leaked like a sieve with my first baby and used disposable pads. I'd like to try and save some money this time around and try cloth.
How many pairs should I have on hand? Waterproof or not? What materials should I look for?.....again HEAVY leaker here!!! Do you have a favorite etsy/hyneacart/or ds momma who sells??

Re: cloth nursing pads
I bought cotton ones from BRU that were not waterproof and they didn't work for me at all - I soaked through them with one let-down. I haven't bought anymore yet, but I've heard that fleece may work better.

I leaked like crazy with dd1 and have not leaked nearly as much with dd2. So maybe it won't be as bad as you think.
But even if it is, I highly recommend Tanya at Pampered Mama. Her contoured, minky topped pads are awesome! And she makes fleece "shells" for between your pad and bra to help prevent wicking. http://hyenacart.com/onestore.php?vid=2697&category=31

Re: cloth nursing pads
I use milkweeds by hemp babies. They aren't waterproof and they are pretty thick (show under clothes), so I mainly just use them around the house. They are comfy though. I have three pairs and I throw them in with the non-diaper baby laundry every other day. If they start to stink I spray them with 50/50 vinegar & water before the wash.

I swear by bamboobies! They have a day time and a night time pad but they really hold a lot!! I started with the organic cotton ones from BRU and had leaks. So far, none with bamboobies
Good luck! http://www.buybamboobies.com/
