Sippy For 8 Month Old?

I start school on the 29th and my MIL will be watching my girls. It will only be a few hours most days but I will be away 6 1/2 hours one day of the week. I left her when she was about 2 months old when I went to a funeral once and she took a Breastflow bottle but I haven't really left her for longer than 2 hours since then.

I have pumped this week and DH tried to give her a Breastflow bottle and Avent and she doesn't want either one. I tried to research this a little and saw some recommendations to start on a sippy. Would this work? Any recommendations on which one to try?

Thanks!

I like the Nuk learner cup with silicone spout:

http://www.nuk-usa.com/products/c-10$p-68/learner-cup-silicone.aspx

I originally chose it b/c it has volume markings on the side, and we were keeping close track of super-skinny DS's intake. But it has gotten higher marks for not leaking, not having a separate vent part to wash (or lose), coming with a cap and travel disk, and being interchangeable with other Nuk bottles.

Thanks, mama. That looks like a good one to start with. I can get that cup locally so that is even better. Thanks for the suggestion.

Re: Sippy For 8 Month Old?

My dd is 7 mos old and my ds had left a sippy cup sitting on the floor. She tried to take a drink out of it. I don't doubt that your 8 mo old will use one just fine.

I plan on using the Take & Toss cups. They're cheap, stackable and just as good as the more expensive ones that leaked everywhere for me.

Re: Sippy For 8 Month Old?

My DD has had a sippy cup since she was 6 months.(she would never take a bottle) and I just started with a NUk, and now we switch between the NUK and some Playtex ones that we have. She does good with them so far!.

Re: Sippy For 8 Month Old?

We had the best luck with the Nuby soft spout cups and the Take and Toss cups at an earlier age - neither have valves.
