Should you give probiotics when you give your baby topical antibiotics to prevent thrush?

It can't hurt for you to take probiotics yourself to help prevent thrush, I am not sure about giving it directly to baby.

I give my 3am old probiotics by putting a small amount on my nipple before I feed him. Probiotics are always good for babies... Especially with thrush, colic or gas.

I have heard good things about this. We only had a thrush issue for a few weeks, but I personally could have done without it!!

So far I haven't because I hate pumping and he will only take probiotics if I hide them in a bottle of my milk. It has to be a bottle. With oral antibiotics I have always given him prodiotics two hours after he takes the antibiotics. I also give him probiotics when I take antibiotics. I asked my ped the first time I took antibiotics when DS was 2 months old and he was fine with it. Since topical antibiotics aren't going to effect his digestive system I am drinking a lot of keifer and hoping for the best.
