Will have to get a cabbage this weekend when I go grocery shopping. If I can stomach the smell of cooking cabbage...
My baking soda fizzled just the tiniest amount for about half of a second after I swished it. I'm thinking that's probably a girl result. My pee was pretty watery, though.

And about the cabbage - I'm with you... not sure I can stomach that smell right now!

Re: Some fun things

Actually, the baking soda test is Lots of fizz = boy, no fizz = girl.

Mine fizzed a lot! but when I googled it, its just an old wives tail. No science behind it at all.

I haven't done the ring test with this one yet (it probably reads as it being a girl at this point because MAMAs are girls and babies are only the size of a seed), but I did when I was pregnant with DS. I actually did it a couple of days before the ultrasound, and both were right that it was a boy! You all probably think I'm totally off my rocker now, but I think this ring test can actually be accurate!! The person doing it has be relaxed though. Try it with yourself and your SO. Just dangle the ring over your/his hand! Try again over your tummy in a few more weeks when the baby is a little bigger I think it must pick up some kind of energy given off by males/females.

I went to the store and almost bought cabbage but just couldn't do it Thought it would remind me of being preggo when we lived in Japan and visited S. Korea. Puke, kimchi!

I will probably try all of these, I know they are old wives tales but it would be fun Also, the chinese calendar says I am having a girl

Re: Some fun things

I tried the ring test with DS and it repeatedly said baby was a girl! Boy was it wrong! My friend did it and she was very relaxed, although she was pregnant with a boy (she knew) and it read boy. i did her test. I wonder why it didn't work with me? Hmmm...I wouldn't trust it again... I will look up the chinese calender, I think it was right with DS.

Re: Some fun things

If we go by the chinese calculator it's a boy.

Pretty sure I am too early for anything to make a difference right now.

I will definitely try the other things at some point =)

I would think the ring test could possibly work if you're not thinking in your head 'girl girl girl' or 'boy boy boy'

Last pregnancy I was seeing a holistic practitioner that does nutritionist response testing (kinesiology). She tested that it was a girl and sure enough, a girl! I'm seeing another woman that does the same NRT so if few months I'll ask her to test me too.
