afraid to put dish soap in my front loader

We have a small stacked Maytag front loader. I'm totally freaked out about putting dish soap in it because I think it negates the warranty if it breaks the machine. But I really need to strip my fleece and mf dipes.

Anyone else have a small front loader and uses it to strip their diapers w/ dish soap? Did your machine survive?

You can do it in the bathtub, or the kitchen sink even, instead and just rinse them before putting them in the washing machine.

Re: afraid to put dish soap in my front loader

yep... what was said above. I used to use a SOFT toothbrush, hot water and a dishpan and do it by hand. I then rinse the best I can then run it through a hot load in the washer with no detergent. I personally NEVER put dishsoap in my washer and I have a TL. Some people do it and have no problems, I don't, and honestly wouldn't recommend it. Just my 2 cents!

DON'T DO IT! It can ruin the motor! I would do it in the tub too.

Re: afraid to put dish soap in my front loader

I use dawn in the tub. I've always been scared to wreck my washer by using dish soap in it, so i never have. It's not that big of a deal to strip them in the tub. I just add super hot water, a squirt of dawn and dump my diapers in there. Swish 'em around, let 'em soak for a bit, rinse 'em under the tap and then rinse some more in the washer. Worked really well the times I've had to strip.
