Has anyone tried this brand? or know anyone who has? I came across them on the Walmart website. They sound really safe and I really need a harness seat for my 4 y/o 40lb ds..

I would skip it. The harness slots do not go very high. I don't know exactly how high they are though. You could ask on their Facebook page. It is possible that he would have already outgrown the harness.

All seats are equally safe as far as we know. They all pass the same testing and the results are not released. There are no testing standards for side impact testing so we don't know how effective all these "side impact tested" seats are.

The top harness slots are just a little over 16 inches. Have your ds sit by the wall and measure how high his shoulders go up. I'd also look into the Evenflo Maestro (50 pound limit) and the Graco Nautilus (65 pound limit) which both have 18 inch top slots.
