There isn't anything wrong with a schedule. Some people tend to assume it means you are some cold detached parent who won't feed a hungry baby.
My DS went through a time of completely random eating. (posted somewhere here in FF) Lately, however, he seems to have spaced himself out. It is weird! (He did it with his naps too) Wake 6am 7am 4 oz bottle 8am 1 jar of baby food 9am nap noon 4 oz bottle 1pm nap 4pm 4 oz bottle 5pm 1 jar of baby food 7pm 8-10oz bottle bedtime

. What I have been told is TBW repackages many of these same ideas in a more agreeable way that doesn't seem so legalistic. I do a dreamfeed because I BF and I need to do that to keep up supply. If I was FF, I would do just as you mention. I offered solids directly after nursing beginning with lunch and dinner meals too. Our babies all start nursing less (so maybe FF is the same?) around 9-10 months.
