Question Trouble with BGOS 3.0 - repelling water

I started CDing mainly with BGOS 3.0 in March 2010. LOVED it! But even though I washed as directed, stripped once a month, etc. I've had some problems. It seems they often still leak. Water beads up on the outside.
I started using Purex Free&Clear first. Then switched to Rockin'Green (no scent).
Flip diapers seem to work the best for me I think.
Is there still hope for my BGOS CD's?
They used to stink REALLY bad when she wet and we thought there might be amonia build up, so I used Rockin Green's funk rock. I think it has helped. She used to get a rash too if I left them on too long. It might still happen, but it seems to have improved.
I would love to trade these in and just use Flip all the time - but I don't want to sell someone "bad" diapers. I also wonder if it might be our water, since we have well water.
Ugh. Just a bit frustrated. And a huge investment - I hate to just *not* use them!

Do you have a water softener?

Adding some calgon might do wonders to help your detergent lather up better and get those diapers clean.
