Portable Night Light

Recommendations? We are looking at the Mobi Tyke light and the Kinderglo.

We were given one of those turtles with the stars awhile ago, but returned it because we didn't need a night light back then....and thought it would have been better if it played music. Now DS is waking up screaming after an hour of going to bed and we think it's because our room is so dark and he gets scared.

It needs to be battery operated because we don't have any exposed plug-ins in our bedroom.

Re: Portable Night Light

We had a Mobi but weren't big fans because it automatically turns off the light after 15 minutes. This might work for you-no batteries, made for kids, and 20 hours of charge.

Re: Portable Night Light

We have had 2 kinds, the tykelight:

Both boys loved but they burnt out quickly(stay on all night if they fall asleep before turning them off)

And they have these now:

Those are my daycare kids opening theirs for Christmas. They loved them too!
They are Munchkin puppy lights. They change colors & turn off after 20 minutes and can be used on all night if left on the charger base. I bought 7 of them last year & they are all used nightly & all still work(sometimes too well! My daycare parents sometimes say that after an hour they take them away because the kids stay up & play in their beds with them.) My boys have a rule that after they turn off(20 minutes) they stay off & they go to sleep. So for us, the timer works well as a clue to go to sleep now.

We have Energizer Tap lights. They also have them in non-character ones but I got the ones we have on clearance so we weren't picky.

I personally would not recommend the Mobi. We had two of these are after 6 mos a couple of colors stopped working. My son loved to have it set on the rainbow cycle. They ended up in the garbage. Just my .

My dad gave us some flameless candles for Christmas one year, and they ended up making the perfect nightlight for DD. They run for 5 hours and then shut off. And they turn themselves back on at the same time every night. They weren't designed specifically for kids, but DD absolutely loves them!

Re: Portable Night Light

Thanks for the suggestions so far! I think the Mobi is scratched off the list now. Thanks for the Munchkin rec. I'll have to check those out! The lantern, touch lights, and flameless candles would work, but we're looking more for something that he could have in bed with him, if he desired. Thanks for suggesting those though!
