I'll bet they have some free felted bowl patterns on ravelry?

To felt, I followed the pattern directions.

I used cascade 220 yarn and knit on size 11 needles.

Pattern said to put it inside a zippered pillowcase and wash it with a pair of jeans but I didn't have a zippered so I sewed one shut.

So, washed it on hot in the pillowcase with a pair of jeans with a little dish soap on a small load setting for 12 mins, bypassed rinse cycle and went straight to spin. Checked it, it needed more felting, so I repeated the 12 min wash with a little more soap and then spun it.

It shrunk over 50% in length and about 25% in width.
