18 months...I made it! Thank you

Just wanted to share that we made it to 18 months!!! It hasn't been easy...I didn't think we would get here but we did. Some of you might know our story and it has certainly been a journey I never thought I would have taken. Thank you to all the moms on here who have answered me questions, offered support, and given advice through the last 18 months. I don't think we would have made it without you!

In 20 days I will have been 1 year dairy, egg and nut free due to my daughter's allergies and I never imagined I could make it without pizza, cheese, icecream, chocolate, etc. But we have and I feel great. My daughter's allergies are still there (we are currently in the process of testing her again will find out Tuesday hopefully if things have improved) but I really truly believe that she would not be as good as she is if I hadn't kept nursing her.

I feel like she is starting to wean her self and I am ok with that. But I plan on nursing her till she is done. My initial goal was a year and then when my sister made a comment jokingly one day "are you going to be one of those moms whose kid comes over and lifts your shirt to nurse?" and then my mom said "don't encourage her" well I never thought of it until she brought it up and as stubborn as I am I became determined to keep going. So my second goal was 18 months and the next one is 2 years.

Thank you again for helping me see that it is possible and helping me make my goals.

Woohooo! Congrats!!! Way to go! I got the exact same comment from my sister and thought the same thing we are at 14 mo bf'ing.
