Leaking and squirting-- does it ever stop?

My DD is 4 months old now and thankfully, the rock hard boobs and spontaneous leaking have stopped. But every time I feed her on one side, the other breast thinks its time to let down as well, and leak leak leak! I can soak an entire pad on the opposite breast I'm feeding on, which means i still have to wear nursing pads all the time. Does this ever stop?

Also, the squirting! If DD pulls away while she's eating, which she does more and more now that she's interested in the big world, my boob just squirts milk. DH says it looks like a fountain it goes so far. Makes it hard to nurse in public sometimes.

will this happen the entire time i'm nursing?

It should get better with time. If you have an extra hand or forearm you can apply pressure to the other nipple before and during let down and it should help with leaking.

With my first, I could stop wearing nursing pads around 8 mo. My second, 3-4 months, my third 6 weeks. You will probably regulate soon! I use the "applying pressure" trick to prevent leaks in public.

I guess I didn't assume it would ever stop I'm 10 weeks pp, and now that I think about it, leaking has lessened a little but not much. Let down on the opposite side while feeding is about the same.

leaking will nursing finally just started to let up at 4.5 months. Occasionally I will still leak...usually when I havent nursed in greater than 3 hours. It will get better, but I would be happy, sounds like you have a plentiful supply of milk!
