crock pot refried beans question
I wanted to make some in the crockpot and was looking at recipes but they all call for dried pinto beans . I only have the canned kind . Can I use the canned pinto beans and just not cooked as long ???

Re: crock pot refried beans question
I haven't tried that, but I assume it would work fine.

Should be fine. Cook on low and you'll get good flavors.

Re: crock pot refried beans question
Canned beans would only need to be in the pot for 10 mins to heat them through. So you can basically cut most of the cooking time out. Assuming the beans are the only thing that is actually being cooked -canned beans with whatever seasoning going in will probably take a max of 30 mins.
I Love refried beans- feel like sharing your recipe?

![]() You might even find a specific recipe on how to just doctor up the canned beans to make them refried beans. I don't know that I would even use the crockpot beans recipe because canned beans definitely won't need to cook long and that may effect the other ingredients. Also, I don't know what OP is referring to, but this is the recipe I use for crockpot refried beans: Refried Beans without the Refry.

I always make a half batch, and that makes enough for about 8 bean burritos.

Re: crock pot refried beans question
I know this was posted yesterday, but thought I'd drop my
in. Canned beans just need to be heated through, but when I make tacos, I saute a little onion in about a tsp of oil and then add a can of rinsed beans, smash with potato masher, add a little pepper and done!
