I think it should feel similar to soft playdough really solid like that not soft and fluffy like bread dough.

We use a tortilla press the majority of the time. DH is Mexican and instead of using waxed paper he "recycles" store bags (Wal-Mart bags, for example) by rinsing them out, turning them inside out, and cutting out a form to fit in the tortilla press. It works really well that way and there is no need to buy waxed paper. Hope this helps!
