Strange baby poop ???

DS is 2.5 months old and is mostly breastfed but still gets up to 4 oz of formula supplement with similac advance. He normally has yellow seedy bm's but occassionally he has dark green (almost brown) bm's that are the consistency of almost peanut butter. These are FOUL smelling and accompanied by lots of gas. Twice we have had to use qtip stimulation to help him pass these bm's and the morning after these bm's he will have 3-4 normal bm's. He normally poops 1x every 1-2 days so that is a lot of poop for him. I do not eat dairy, and I am on weight watchers so I eat the same foods all the time (so I don't have to think lol). No particular food seems to correlate. He nurses both sides completely every nursing session so I don't think it could be too much foremilk. Any ideas?

My Mood:
That sounds like formula poop to me. When I supplemented with DD 1, she would have stinky peanut butter poops.

I agree with formula poop. Much stinkier and thicker than EBF poop. Also, DD2 (BF) never had issues. DD1(FF) was always borderline constipated and really struggled to poo.

Slightly off topic, but I wanted to point out this doesn't matter since the formula DOES have dairy in it.

Lol I considered this. The only dairy product that seems to give DS trouble is if I eat Ice Cream or drink a large quantity of regular milk.

At one point he was on 100% formula (we have had SERIOUS issues breastfeeding), and he didn't have this thick green smelly poop at all. I just wanted to make sure there was not another common allergy that could be causing this that I should be looking at. He does have a ton of gas with this weird poop, but he doesn't seem bothered by it at all really. I'm just making sure that my milk isn't hurting his tummy.

Thanks Mamas! Hopefully I can get him completely off the formula and then we can enjoy a few more months of EBF poop before starting solids
