Yellowing stains on christening gown

Last year, my dd spit up on her christening gown. I washed it but now I can see yellowing where she spit up. My DS is getting baptized sunday. Any remedy for these yellow stains? Will stain stick and a wash help at all?

If it is important to you I would take it to a dry cleaners. I really have no experience with sentimental items like this. I mean we used the christening gown that was my moms and her sisters for our kids I just don't know how my grandma washes/washed it.

For clothes in general I soak in washer with detergent, then wash. If they don't come out I DONT dry it, but I put liquid detergent on the stain, soak and wash again. All of this with the disclaimer that I don't know what your fabric is, and I'm usually doing this to onesies

I would try sunning it. My mom had saved some of my outfits. (she was a bit of a packrat) A few of them had yellowed stains I just wet then and laid them in the sun like a diaper and they was gone.

There is this stuff called White Brite that you can soak it in. Is it dry clean only? Or can you put it on the delicate cycle?

If sunning it doesn't work you can try a little Dawn dishwashing soap. That is what I ended up using on DDs gown and it came out perfectly.

There was a thread on here a few months ago about "sunning". Someone had a christening gown that had yellowed and they sunned it and it was bright white again! I would def try sunning!

I would soak it overnight in a couple scoops of Oxyclean. It got all the yellow stains out of my baby clothes.
