silly question...but how can I print an international shipping label
using paypal? I'm going to pay for postage at the PO since paypal won't give me the option of shipping first class, but is there a way to just print a label or do I have to handwrite it? Or should I attempt to do this using Word or another program?

You can go to usps.com and download their shipping assistant- it gives you the option of printing labels international without postage.
Or, if you can use stamps.com (or indicia) and it lets you fill out the international label, as well as the customs form all in one, and prints it all on one label- then you can completely avoid the postoffice and just stick it in your mailbox.

Re: silly question...but how can I print an international shipping label
You don't even have to go to the post office to do the customs forms. You can print out the forms online, fill them out and stick them to the package in a resealable bag such as a ziploc. As long as you make sure the postal carrier can get the forms in and out and you have the right number of copies, you're good to go. You can also print out the shipping label and pay for postage at the same time as long as you have the customs forms and a scale. You can even schedule a pick up. Just over estimate the weight if you're not using a postal-grade scale and you'll be fine. I figured out all of this while trying to get care packages to my deployed husband in the middle of winter with an infant. Eventually, I figured out how to do it without ever leaving the house much less stepping foot into the post office.
