Diaper Swappers

My DD is just 2, and is pt'd during waking hours, but I still put her in a diaper during naps and at nighttime. Somehow she only seems to poop during the times she's in a diaper. She does great on either her little toilet or the big one, so I don't think she's afraid to go there, but I want her to succeed at pooping on the potty (for my sake as well as hers

). Any ideas short of waking her up to get her to go? She had a couple of "accidental" successes while we were pt-ing, and she knows she gets a prize if she goes potty in the toilet, but she can't seem to make it happen. I'd love some advice!

My DD was the same way! She was daytime PLed for peeing before age 2, except she would only poop in a diaper. She'd hold it til nap and go first thing in the morning. She eventually grew out of it right around age 3. One suggestion I have heard is to take a prefold diaper and lay it over the little potty to let her start pooping there. I think it is a comfort thing, at least it was for my daughter. I was starting to worry she would NEVER go in the potty! Good luck mama!

Well, it's nice to know I'm not the only one!

She did finally have a BM in the toilet the other day, and we made a big deal about it and gave her a prize (which she had been waiting for). She has yet to do it again, but I'm at least hopeful now!

Yay! keep on encouraging her. We gave little treats like temporary tattoos and stickers, m&ms, etc. She'll get there eventually.

We're in the same boat with DS (almost 2.5 yrs)! Not only will he hold it until nap or bed time for a diaper, he puts his hand in his diaper and pulls it out! Then we have to change diapers, shirt, bedding and by the time that's done, he won't nap. This is happening every single day and sometimes twice a day.

My DS is only 16m and we're not PT yet, but he almost ALWAYS poops first thing in the am..like, before he lets me know he is awake....maybe just try getting her faster? Maybe the urge is too strong to hold it?
