Major sinus pain!

I had to go to the doctor yesterday and was diagnosed with strep throat. Yuck! I have antibiotics for that but my head and sinuses are really feeling full of pressure. What can I take to ease the pain and pressure? My head feels like it's in a vice grip!

Re: Major sinus pain!

I wonder if a neti pot would help?

Eucalyptus Essential oil rubbed on the sinus cavities helps!

Ibuprofen helps me if I have sinus pain. It is anti-inflammatory so it does help reduce the pressure and dulls the pain. It is safe for bf'ing - almost everyone takes it postpartum when feeding newborns.
I second the Neti pot, hot tea with honey, also try pouring steaming hot water into a bowl or sink and bending over it to breathe in the hot steam. Putting a towel over your head and the bowl like a tent increases the effect.
Hope you feel better soon. Try taking probiotics and yogurt opposite your antibiotics to avoid yeast issues. Avoid too much sugar right now too. (That's easier said than done for me - I have a huge sweet tooth!)
