Re: April 2010 Lil Peeps!!!

Hey Missy!!

I'm so glad that Josh is doing so well. I don't remember - did you know before he was born about his special needs or did you find out when we was born? How great that he is talking. Katie is just starting to talk too - she is 18 months now and probably has between 15-20 words, but this has doubled from less then 10 in the last month. Kinda crazy how it starts exploding.

Katie is officially weaning. She just doesn't want to nurse - and my supply is gong away. I definitely seem to be more sad about it. LOL

Hope that everyone is well.

We have our 18 month check in 2 weeks - crazy how time flies!

Re: April 2010 Lil Peeps!!!

Hello Friends!

I'm excited to have stumbled upon this. Quick update here: Feens (Athena) is 17m now and I don't know her weight or anything...she fits into 18-24m clothing and her foot grew just about out of 5s! She's getting taller and taller and she's got this big ol' noggin. She's much more verbal than Gianna was at this age. Still nursing around the clock...she doesn't really eat too much solids...here and there. She's a big mama's girl. She started walking at 13m and hasn't slowed down since. She's got a head full of thick, curly hair - far more than her sister had at this age!

I am a single mama now and have been for 16m now. My divorce will be finalized in a couple weeks. We are civil and sometimes friendly and he sees the girls once a week for a few hours. I am dating and it's sorta fun but I'm in no rush to meet someone. We've dealt with a lot of obstacles in the last few months (have had to move a few times..most recently because my apt. was ruined by Hurricane Irene) but we're getting ready to move into our first HOUSE as a family of three. It's got a fenced yard, big rooms....I'm so stoked. The girls and I are going to be so happy there.

I was surfing around here to see who is pregnant and/or trying to conceive....would love to have another baby...but obviously that ain't happening anytime soon! HA!

YAY for things going well, Jenna!!!

Liam has weaned. He started wanting less when we went to my parents' house in August. It's been downhill ever since. It's all good though. It was his decision, I kept offering and he would shake his head and run off. I only tried to make him once and... Yeah. Just like making a toddler do anything else, it didn't end well!

Hey Jenna!!! Glad that things are better for you guys now! We missed you! I think babies with big heads are adorable!!! You just want to squeeze them. (the babies not their heads).

Robyn - that is exactly what Katie is doing. I'll offer - she might take a pull, but then she shakes her head and wants down. It is definitely harder on me then it is on her. LOL

I wish Wooster would wean. He loves his boob boob as he calls it. I had to pull out his 24 month winter clothes and they actually fit him. My peanut is finally growing. He's a wild child.

Hi Ashley!! My Katie has been a peanut too - we are too big for 12 months, but too small for 18 months. 12-18 month sizing from ON, GAP,and Gymboree has been fitting really well.

So everybody - we had Katie's 18 month appointment and she has finally grown!!! She is 20 lbs 10 oz and 31 inches!!! Woohoo!! That puts us in the 6th percentile for weight and 25th for height!!! Her head is in the 60th percentile.

Re: April 2010 Lil Peeps!!!

Hey ladies! Been a long time, but we're doing well over here.

Cecilia is 18 months old now, and still tiny-- she wears 9-12 month clothing (mostly 12 though some 9 month stuff still fits perfectly. Hell, some 6 month stuff still fits well, too), and teeny size 3 feet. But her skills assessment at the pediatrician the other day puts her at around 2-2.5 developmentally, so I guess she's putting all of her growing power into mental growth. She is 19 lbs 8 oz (1st percentile), 29 3/4" tall (5th percentile) and her head is 47 cm (61st percentile). Always a big head, this one!

She doesn't talk as much as I wish she did, given how frustrated she gets when I don't understand what she wants. But she talks and signs enough for most stuff. She runs and climbs like a monkey, too.

Still nursing a good amount. My supply 100% tanked around 9 months old, so we've been using the SNS for full-time supplementation since then. Around 14 months old, we ran out of donated breastmilk and couldn't find any more. She's been on organic formula since then. At first I really felt crappy about it, and felt like I was failing her by not being able to afford to have milk ship in or find it locally, but a friend gave me some wonderful perspective that eased my mind greatly. She said that it was a huge blessing when Cecilia was tiny that we had donated milk for her, and that now that she's a big girl who eats some food too, it's lovely that we are letting someone else with a tiny baby who really needs it have that milk.

At any rate, she shows no sign of weaning, and I am fine with that. She only nurses probably 5 times a day anyway, and not at all at night. Solids are still hit-or-miss. She is a very social eater, so when we have a group of people around eating, she eats a lot more.

We're considering trying for baby #2 soon. I have been nannying a few days a week for my baby niece (2 months old), and Cecilia absolutely adores her. She says "Addie" all the time, and when she's here, she bring her toys, her paci, blankets, etc. and totally dotes on her. She also covers her in kisses. It's so adorable! So, she's made us think that she would love a new baby around, and so it might be time to take the plunge!

Hey Aimee!!!

You've still got a peanut too with a big noggin. The big headed little babies are so cute.

I'm so glad that nursing worked for you for so long - even to 9 months with your reduction history YOU ROCK!! I like what your friend said!

Glad to hear from you - Can't believe they are cruising in on 2. CRAZY!
