Diaper Swappers

So, here's the plan:

I'm going as "fertile ground," wearing all brown. DH is going as a farmer. Baby in my preggo belly is going as a seed. DS (18 months) is going as a sprout.

Any ideas for DS's costume? He won't wear a hat of any sort.

What about ways to make it obvious that baby girl is a seed?
What if baby girl is born before then (due 11/7)... any ideas on dressing a newborn as a seed?

Well, the newbie costume should be easy, just get a sack type deal in brown. For DS, maybe just green outfit, would he let you put some kind of green pigment on his skin/hair (oo, and spike it)? Maybe add some kind of fringe to his sleeves

Me likey! 18 months, he might go for it. OP, I hope your DD is born on 11/7! That's my DD's bday!

Jessica-- Hmm... DS might go for that, but I'd want to find something that would A. be easy to wash off and B. wouldn't have too many bad chemicals in it. Any ideas? As for the seed sack, what do you have in mind? Someone else suggested pinning a pack of seeds, is that what you mean? I'm not a gardner, by any means, so I'm at a loss here

Cute idea! Maybe newbie can be a pink flower bud and DS can be a full grown flower? I think your idea is cuter but this might be easier?

Ps.. I want to see pictures when you get it figured out!

Eh, I was just thinking a brown sleep sack type deal, maybe stuff the bottom a little to puff it out. And find a cute top knot type hat? As for the pigment, maybe try whole foods or something? I know they sell makeup and stuff, maybe you can mix to make green? You could also try some of their food coloring, but that might stain a bit longer than you'd like

I was just at Earth Fare, and didn't really see costume type stuff, but I was thinking about it. Hhhmm, you could make a paste or gel type deal and slather that on. Maybe something using a diaper cream or similar that you would put on his butt, but dye it using the food coloring and then spread that on thinly or use to spike his hair? I def. try on yourself first though.

For a DIY recipe at home – try this:
1 tsp cornstarch
½ tsp water
½ tsp all natural diaper rash cream or a cold cream
1-2 drops natural/ organic food coloring

All Natural Face Paint

Base of safe, unscented lotion OR pure cocoa butter

Natural food coloring

Mix a few drops of natural food coloring into the base ingredient of your choice. Test on a small patch of skin before applying to face or body.

OR Try the Following Natural Face Paint Recipe

1 1/2 Tablespoons of natural cold cream

3 Tablespoons cornstarch

Natural Food color

Combine the cold cream and the cornstarch until you have a thick paste. Divide into a paint dish, egg carton etc… Add a small amount of food color to each container until desired shades are achieved. Apply to the skin using small paint brushes or q-tips.
