Nervous about BC

I am going in for my 6 week check up and my doc would like to know which BC I would like. I have never been on any and I'm nervous!! The women in my family have not have great luck with BC and have had all types of issue like severe bleeding, severe migraines, etc. I have some health issues and my doc advised that I choose something non-hormonal. Any of you ladies use non hormonal BC and what are your experiences and/or reccomendations?

The only non-hormonal BC I like is condoms. I know most people don't like those :/

The only hormonal BC I've liked is Mirena, thinking of getting it again.

You can go with a diaphragm. I have never used one. But I think besides charting type stuff the only non-permanent, no-hormonal are copper IUD (not a good option for a heavy bleeder), a diaphragm. a cervical cap or condoms. Certainly no new advancements in the non-hormonal area. Goo.d Luck
