Re: How long do you usually wait for custom orders?

I waited too long, kept giving the person the benefit of the doubt, never got what I ordered, and it was too late to file w/ paypal.

Don't do what I did!

How long is too long? Isn't it like 60 days? If I don't have them by the end of the week, I figured I would file. Again, I hate to be that way, but something's gotta give.

Re: How long do you usually wait for custom orders?

I say call until you get to talk to her and this time say you would like to come pick them up and when would be a good time to drop by. If she makes excuses about being busy and not sure when, tell her (as nicely as possible) that you'll have to cancel your order and need your money back so that you can get one somewhere else (say that you really need some more dipes and DC can't wait much longer)

One way or the other you should get your dipes or your money in the end....

I know she's your friend but it sounds like she is being lazy/ taking advantage of you. If she keeps avoiding you she either hasn't made them, or doesn't intend to and hopes you will just forget about it....

I've been waiting 5 days short of a month for a diaper that said it would take 2 weeks to make.

Waiting sucks, but I just hope that in the end I'll love the diaper (embroidery really) and that it will be worth it. *sigh*

I waited a month once on a custom which the mama said would take a week, start to finish. But this mama was constantly stocking her HC and not doing my custom...sucked, but in the end the dipe was adorable!

I think if there is communication, that there shouldn't be a worry. Sure frustration sets in because *you* want the item you paid for, which I completely and utterly understand how you feel, it has happened to me a ton of times!

I think you should just phone up and ask when a good time would be for you to go over and pick it up. Heck if you know where this person lives, why not do a surprise visit? I would if it was me :P

You have 45 days to file with PP.

It's really rude to set up a time to drop stuff off and then be a no-show. I know she's your friend, but you could just calmly tell her, "Since the diapers are finished and I need them, I'd like to pick them up on such-and-such date." Then you'll either have them, or she'll have to come clean and admit that they aren't finished, or whatever the problem is.

Sorry you have to go through this.

I got them! I got them! She hand delivered them tonight. They are SO cute! I can't wait to wash them up and try them on DD. I'll post pics tomorrow. I have to clear some room on my memory card.
